Hi i’m Nicki Mawby, and I formed the ‘HR Your Business Matters’ brand in 2012.
My career initially started within retail management, where I managed a number of high profile and high turnover businesses with teams in excess of 40+ people.
Within this time I experienced many things which I have brought into my HR career, things such as commercial and operational thinking, which plays an important role when running a business and managing people. People processes have to fit with your business, one process simply doesn’t suit all.
I moved into HR around 10 years ago, having realised that the key to a successful and profitable business was the people working within it and getting the best out of those people was a full time job! My role within the Consultancy today centres around supporting my clients to attract and retain the best people within their businesses.
I get told all the time that there are simply not enough hours in the day to understand the various legislations and everything that comes with managing people alongside the operational running of a business.
What you get from myself and my team of HR professionals is sound support and advice, tailored to your business and industry, with no jargon or scaremongering in sight!!

2017 saw the introduction of ‘Recruitment Your Business Matters’ which is headed up by my amazing Business Partner, Kelly King.
Having recruited constantly over the last 15 years, we recognised that recruiting the right person into a business, with the right skills knowledge and expertise is imperative for business success.
Many of our clients often grumbled at the extortionate prices and poor practices of the typical recruitment agencies so we were increasingly asked to support with their recruitment campaigns.
As HR professionals our priority is to match the right person to the right business, prioritising areas such as business culture and a candidates behaviours and personality as well as the skills and knowledge required within a role.
